A note on charging your Ford Escape battery
The Ford Escape Hybrid gets better gas mileage in the city than it does on the highway due to the nature of electric motors and hybrid operation. The Escape Hybrid's mileage is 44 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. Charging the battery is an extra task with a hybrid model and it's important to learn how that works. The Escape Hybrid takes 11 hours with a 120-volt outlet but can charge as quickly as 3.5 hours with a 240-volt charger.
The 2022 Ford EcoSport: As much as 29 miles per gallon
The Ford EcoSport is a trim, compact SUV with four doors and a knack for giving you good gas mileage. It does its job efficiently with a four-cylinder 166-horsepower engine and standard all-wheel drive on all trims. Its EPA rating for the city is 23 mpg and its highway rating is 29 mpg. The editors at Car & Driver gave the EcoSport their customary 75-mph fuel economy test and found it could do a little better: An unofficial 30 mpg on the highway.
